Newcastle United offered chance to sign Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury

Newcastle United are one of the clubs that have been offered the chance to sign former England Under-21 international Hamza Choudhury.

The 23-year-old central midfielder has made just 10 appearances for Leicester City this season and is in need of regular first-team action.

Choudhury was at the centre of an ugly clash with Matt Ritchie in a League Cup tie against the Foxes in 2019 that left the winger sidelined for months.

But Choudhury - who is contracted until 2023 - is now in need of first-team action and his agent is weighing up potential suitors.

Southampton have had a big interest in the last 12 months.

Speaking on loans, Bruce said: “It is never easy getting a loan player, the reason you are getting them on loan is usually because they aren't playing, have had a fall out or are recovering from injury or whatever.

"We will see what we can do and see if we can improve the squad."

Bruce is also in the queue to sign Man United full-back Brandon Williams.
