Steve Bruce has confirmed his 25-man Premier League squad for the first half of the Premier League season.
After the conclusion of the domestic transfer window, Newcastle had to name their final squad by Tuesday, with four players missing the cut.
Christian Atsu, Henri Saivet, Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons failed to make the 25-man squad and Bruce has confirmed he will look to find new clubs for the quartet in the January transfer window as their contracts with the Magpies expire at the end of the season.
"Selecting the squad is always difficult because you know you have to leave people out," Bruce told Newcastle's official website.
"With all the players, they're professionals and they want to play week in, week out.
"With the players we've brought in, it makes it even tougher but it's a decision you have to make.
"Those who aren't involved will continue to train and keep themselves right and once we hit December and January, we hope we can get them fixed up with clubs."
Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle have been named in United's squad, despite their long-term injuries, with the Magpies hopeful they can return to action prior to January.
DeAndre Yedlin, who had been linked with a move away from Newcastle, has also been named in the Magpies' squad for the first half of the campaign.
Matty Longstaff has not been registered as part of the 25-man squad but is eligible to feature as he is under the age of 21.
