Newcastle United monitoring former Leicester winger Ahmed Musa

Newcastle United have checked out former Leicester City man Ahmed Musa - accordin to those close to his agent.

His representatives say that Musa is keen to try life in the Premier League once again if the opportunity presents itself.

Musa signed for the Foxes after they won the title in 2016 but only made 18 appearances in two years, scoring two goals.

The 28-year-old winger has now been offered to the Magpies along with a clutch of other clubs.

As reported by Teamtalk, Musa has been offered to West Ham, Burnley and Sheffield United.

Although at this stage Newcastle are still merely taking a look at Musa after his free transfer at Al Nassr in the Middle East.

United are starting to compile a shortlist for January and it remains to be seen whether Musa will make the cut.

Musa is still in action at international level but was forced to make a public apology after Nigeria went 4-0 uo to Sierra Leone in an African Cup qualifier.

The Super Eagles capitulated to a 4-4 draw and Musa stated the performance wasn’t good enough.
