Newcastle United have reportedly made a formal complaint about refereeing standards in the Premier League following their defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Reds ran out 3-1 winners against the Magpies last Thursday at Anfield.
But Newcastle were not happy with some of the decisions in the match.
They felt Liverpool’s opening goal should not have been allowed given Isaac Hayden was down on the ground with a head injury as play continued.

Then in their 4-0 home defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, the Magpies were left wondering why, despite a VAR check, they were not awarded a penalty when goalkeeper Ederson collided with Ryan Fraser in the box.
And Newcastle were also not pleased with a decision in their 4-0 defeat at Leicester City that saw them give away a penalty.
According to The Telegraph , the Magpies have lodged a formal complaint to the Premier League over the standard of officiating in the top flight.
The report claims that Newcastle are seeking clarity over several decisions, including the one that contributed to Liverpool’s win last week.
Before Diogo Jota's goal was allowed to stand, the Reds were trailing 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jonjoe Shelvey.

Soon after, Liverpool added a second through Mohamed Salah before Trent Alexander-Arnold’s long-range effort in the closing stages rounded off proceedings.
The Reds themselves felt they were on the receiving end of some questionable decisions in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Referee Paul Tierney was criticised by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for several decisions, including a penalty appeal on Jota, a challenge from Harry Kane and an Andy Robertson red card.
