Newcastle United launches 'Memory Cafe' to fight isolation and loneliness

Newcastle United fans who feel isolated or lonely can meet up and make friends at the club's new 'Memory Cafe'.

The monthly drop-in has been launched by United's NUFC Foundation.

It is a chance for supporters to meet up and reminisce about their favourite Magpie moments over the year, over a cup of tea or coffee.

NUFC's first Memory Cafe will be held on Thursday, March 28, at St James' Park, between 10am and 12noon.

The NUFC Foundation tweeted: "Join us for a trip down memory lane on Thursday - if you feel isolated or lonely we would love to grab a cuppa and reminisce over your favourite famous Newcastle United sporting moments."

There is no need to book, fans can just pop along.

Future NUFC Memory Cafes are set to take place on the final Thursday of every month.
