Newcastle United injury latest - two more concerns plus Saint-Maximin update

Newcastle United have sustained two fresh injuries as a consequence of their packed September schedule.

The Magpies are now assessing issues for DeAndre Yedlin and Emil Krafth after three games in seven days.

Yedlin - who has been linked with a move from United - missed the last-16 clash at Newport County while Krafth came off injured.

Bruce said: “DeAndre has a knock and Emil has a bang on the hip.

“We don’t think it’s too serious.”

Whether it will be serious enough to rule the pair out of contention for the home clash with Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday night remains to be seen.

Bruce is also waiting for an update on Allan Saint-Maximin.

The winger missed the 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur and last night’s cup clash in Wales due to an ankle problem.

Bruce said: “Allan wasn’t quite right but we’re hoping he will be fine for the weekend.”

United take on the Clarets looking to make it seven points from 12 from the first four matches.
