Newcastle United in danger of losing top Ayoze Perez as his representatives explore summer options

Newcastle United could have to make plans to replace Ayoze Perez this summer with his representatives believed to be currently testing the water on interest from La Liga and Serie A.

Perez woke up to headlines in Italy Ayoze Perez sends out strong message ahead of Newcastle United's final game of the season but there is also believed to be admirers in Spain too.

The forward, who is on the brink of being United's top scorer for the second campaign in a row, is contracted to United until 2021.

However, he has already hinted that he is ready to see what other challenges are out there and we understand that his representatives are currently having talks on what the level of interest from around Europe  is at the moment.

Perez's people feel he is capable of playing in the Champions League and at 25 is ready to play on the bigger stage.

In a radio interview with Carrusel Deportivo , Perez said he could be: "Open to options that could come from other teams.

"We’ll see what happens & hopefully whatever comes, it’ll be positive."

United could yet offer Perez a new contract but everything is in the air at St James' Park at the moment.

Newcastle's attitude behind the scenes is that no player can sit down and talk about contract talks until Rafa Benitez's future is resolved.
