Two former Liverpool staff members could be in line to join the revolution at Newcastle, according to reports.
The Toon are hoping to see a takeover deal be completed in the coming weeks, which will see Mike Ashley’s reign come to an end.
The Premier League are still thought to be completing the owners and directors test for The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, Reuben Brothers and PCP Capital Partners’, as their bid to buy Newcastle remains in the balance.
As reported by the Shields Gazette, Toon are looking at bringing in two members of staff who once worked at Liverpool when the takeover is completed.
Owen Brown and Frank McParland are said to play a “prominent roles” at St James’ Park when the deal is completed.
Brown was once a scout and player liaison officer while at Anfield, and could be considered for a director of football role at Newcastle.
McParland was chief scout at Anfield between 2003-07, and held roles at Bolton and Watford before returning to Liverpool in 2009.
He would return as director of the Liverpool academy, before being sacked in 2013 and later having time at Rangers and Nottingham Forest.
The pair worked closely with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez, and it is thought McParland is responsible for scouting Raheem Sterling and bringing him to Anfield.
