Newcastle United have three injury concerns ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez could be without up to four players for the game with Crystal Palace tomorrow (Saturday).

The Eagles travel to St James' Park to face the Magpies, who currently sit one place and one point below Palace in the Premier League table.

And Benitez has confirmed that Newcastle have a few injury concerns ahead of the game, in addition to Sean Longstaff being unavailable for the clash with a long-term knee injury.

However, he has confirmed that former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey could come into contention for the game against the Eagles.

"[Fabian] Schar is fine and available," he said, speaking at his pre-match press conference.

"If both Diame and Hayden aren't fit, [Jonjo] Shelvey has a big chance. He is training well, but I don't know if he will start. He is ready and wants to play."

Meanwhile, Palace have an almost fully-fit squad to choose from for the game, with French defender Mamadou Sakho the only long-term absentee for Roy Hodgson's men.

Former Newcastle winger Andros Townsend could feature against his old club, despite sustaining a hand injury last weekend.
