I've got to say since the new owners came in and Eddie Howe came through the door, the transfer business has been superb. I think they've identified the areas of the team and the squad that need strengthening, and they have done it really well and at good prices.
The majority of the players have experienced the Premier League, and Bruno Guimaraes has come into it looking like he's played in the Premier League all his life. What they've done in the summer with Sven Botman, Nick Pope and players like that, they have strengthened in good areas.
The only concern I've got, and this is because of how Callum Wilson's career has panned out, is he does regularly get soft-tissue injuries which can keep him out of the team for four to eight weeks. If Newcastle are going to be missing Wilson for that period of time, it changes the dynamics of the team because he's such a top striker.

He's a threat, he plays on the shoulder, defences are worried about him because of his pace in behind. His movement in the box as he showed with his goal against Forest is superb, and if they don't bring in another striker, the dynamics of the team changes a little.
For example, they could play a high press against Forest and did it unbelievably well, every single player was on the front foot. But that threat Callum gives them stretches the game, it allows the midfield to dictate the tempo of the match because they are fragmented through the shape of their team. Their defence is pushed back because of Wilson's threat.
I think whoever they bring in has to have similar attributes to Callum. They will not bringing in a striker to say listen, you're Callum Wilson's understudy. You can see why Goncalo Ramos has been linked, he's a good footballer and it fits the profile Eddie is looking for in his players.
The main thing is to get a striker with that pace to be a threat in behind. That's the way Eddie wants to play, his team looks fantastic when they play that way.
With the players they have, Guimaraes gets so much room with defences stretched. They don't want to play too high, and it means he can dictate the tempo of the game. His passing range coupled with the player who wants to run in behind and has the speed to run away from defenders, it's an exciting prospect.
I think that would be the profile, but they will not be looking for someone to come in as an understudy. When you want to be one of the top teams, you don't get judged by the eleven on the pitch. You judge them by the substitutes and the unfortunate lads who can't get on the bench.
I think that's why Eddie isn't diving in for any striker. They want the right profile, everyone is desperate for it to happen but they're showing if it means they can get one in the summer, they will wait for the right one.
You don't want a player who is happy to be on the bench in your club. You want someone who is expecting to come in and be in the team, and show the manager every single day in training he's ready to play.
