Newcastle United handed boost as James Rodriguez ruled out of Super Sunday clash

Newcastle United will tackle Everton at the weekend in the knowledge that James Rodriguez will be missing in action at St James' Park.

The Colombia international - who joined from Real Madrid this summer - was injured in the Merseyside derby when suffering a testicular injury.

Richarlison, Lucas Digne, and Seamus Coleman are also out for the encounter on Tyneside.

Carlo Ancelotti said: "He had a little problem so he needs to rest for this game."

The Everton summer signing also missed the clash at Southampton when the Toffees were beaten 2-0 at St Mary's Stadium.

Bruce had paid tribute to James at his Press conference today and said: "He burst on to the scene at the World Cup in 2014 and was player of the tournament.

"He is a very good player.

"James, Abdoulaye Doucouré and Allan certainly give them what looks like a new dimension with the addition of the manager.
