Newcastle United give Steve Bruce green light to face media after week of speculation over future

Steve Bruce has been given the green light to face the media ahead of Newcastle United's home game with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The head coach appears to have been given the nod by the club's new owners to continue in the dugout.

Bruce took training Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday while the staff and players were handed a day off today.

The Geordie, though, has been given the nod to face the world's Press on Friday afternoon with his media briefing set to take place at 1.30pm.

The Toon boss is also set to face a series of interviews with other rights holders.

Newcastle have made no statement on Bruce's future since last week when Amanda Staveley said that the new owners would speak to the ex-Man United skipper this week.

The Magpies have another two training sessions before the clash with Spurs and Bruce has still been overseeing preparations despite national headlines saying he would be replaced by the new owners.
