Newcastle United flop Kenedy returns to Chelsea with the Blues set to offer him out for cut price fee

Kenedy has returned to Chelsea to face an uncertain future with the Blues set to offer him out for sale again this summer.

Newcastle have opted not to follow up interest in Kenedy but it looks as if he will now be offered out at a cut-price rate after his poor season with the Magpies.

12 months ago Chelsea were looking for £30million for the forward but with only a year left on his contract, his valuation this summer will be much lower.

Newcastle opted against the deal then, citing concerns about attitude and application despite his successful spell in the early months of 2018 and the decision to negotiate a year-long loan has been vindicated.

But whether the Brazilian will find another club is unclear, with his bridges at Chelsea still burned by his ill-advised social media post in a pre-season tour of China two years ago.

There are no hard feelings at Stamford Bridge about the way the loan has worked out, with Benitez retaining his excellent links with the Blues that may see him return to the London club with more loan requests this summer. The Newcastle boss – if he remains – will be keen to use his domestic loan options again this season as he looks to wheel and deal to improve his squad.

But Kenedy – even at a fraction of the £30million Chelsea originally asked for – is unlikely to appeal.
