Newcastle United fans will love Ant and Dec's I'm a Celebrity set-up for Crystal Palace game

Ant and Dec may have been working on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here on Friday night but that did not mean they forgot their Newcastle United loyalties.

It was a big night for the long-running show, with the duo set to announce the first eviction from the celebrity camp.

Yet the show also clashed with Newcastle' s trip to Crystal Palace, which was being shown live on Amazon Prime.

It meant Ant and Dec were faced with a dilemma that many a fan has had to contend with in the past - missing a game due to work commitments.

Yet they shared a picture of their ingenious set-up that meant they could keep tabs on the game whilst hosting the show.

WIth this year's I'm a Celeb taking place at North Wales' Gwrych Castle instead of the Australian jungle due to the coronavirus, it also allowed Ant and Dec to make pun.

"From one new castle to another," they joked.

Late goals from Callum Wilson and Joelinton secured Newcastle a 2-0 victory that could have gone another way on a different day, with Palace having chances of their own.

The victory saw Ant and Dec sharing their delight on social media post-match.

Ant tweeted: "Yessssss!!!!!! ToonToon!"

It is not the firs time the duo have shown their love of the Magpies on social media.

In 2019, they demanded owner Mike Ashley leave the club after news broke that Rafa Benitez would be departing.

"Disastrous," they wrote.

"Those ‘at the top’ of our great club should be ashamed. The great shame is that they won’t be.

"The way they are repeatedly able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is astonishing.

"Thank you Rafa Benitez. Mike Ashley - get out of OUR club."
