Newcastle United fans troll Alan Sugar after accusations of 'cheating' against Tottenham

Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday but the scoreline certainly doesn't tell the full story.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the dying moments of the game, Steve Bruce's side were awarded a penalty after Eric Dier was judged to have blocked Andy Carroll's header with his hand.

That led to Callum Wilson tucking home from the penalty spot with the final kick of the game, sparking fury for the home side.

The controversial decision has proven to be a major talking point in the aftermath of the match and among those venting their frustrations at the decision was former Spurs owner Alan Sugar.

Taking to Twitter, he stated that 'VAR is killing the game' before adding: This handball rule is a total joke. Newcastle called handball every time we were in our box.

"It's a new way of cheating intimidate the ref or deliberately head the ball at the defender's arm and hand. Disgrace."

Naturally, that led to a wealth of Newcastle supporters trolling the outspoken billionaire who understandably didn't take kindly to the bizarre accusations of 'cheating'.
