Newcastle United fans spot Joe Willock team news hint ahead of Watford clash

Newcastle United fans are fearing Joe Willock may not be available for the upcoming Premier League clash at Watford.

The former Arsenal midfielder has started every top-flight fixture aside from the opening-day defeat to West Ham after completing a permanent switch in the summer.

Steve Bruce confirmed Willock was one of three players to pick up a 'knock' following the heavy defeat at Manchester United, but the 22-year-old started in the home draw with Leeds United on Friday night.

However, a picture with a young Newcastle supporter shared on social media on Tuesday has raised concerns over the midfielder's availability for Saturday's trip to Vicarage Road.

Eagle-eyed fans noted a protective cast on the midfielder's left foot, sparking fears over a potential injury which could rule him out of action this weekend.

No update has been provided on Willock's fitness since his last appearance, but supporters are already worried the midfielder is set to join a lengthy injury list which already includes last season's top scorer Callum Wilson.

One fan posted: "He’s got a boot on his left foot, another injury.

Another commented: "Hope his left foot isn’t too bad."

United are still searching for their first victory of the season, while the newly-promoted Hornets will be looking to record a second straight success after a 3-1 win at Norwich City in their last outing.
