Newcastle United fans react in unison to Watford sacking Xisco Munoz

Xisco Munoz has become the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season following Watford's 1-0 defeat at Leeds United on Saturday.

Diego Llorente scored the only goal of the game as Marcelo Bielsa's side moved up to 16th, whilst the Hornets remain in 14th with two wins from their opening seven matches.

Watford have moved quickly to part company with their Head Coach despite having what seemed like a positive start to the season, after victories over Aston Villa and Norwich City.

In comparison to Newcastle United, the Hornets have four more points and are recording better results despite the 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road last weekend.

The 2-1 defeat against Wolves has further increased the pressure on Steve Bruce as they remain winless and sit inside the relegation zone heading into the international break.

Newcastle supporters have subsequently been reacting to the news that Munoz has lost his job.

@deanonufcx: You’re telling me Watford have sacked their manager for being 14th? Meanwhile Bruce is still manager, winless in 7 PL games and sitting 19th? #NUFC

@michael_enty: Played 7, won 2, drawn 1, lost 4, scored 7, conceded 10. Played 7, won 0, drawn 3, lost 4, scored 8, conceded 16. One manager has been sacked and the other has been backed by the board. @NUFC #NUFC #BRUCEOUT

@ToonIrish: Even though I don’t agree with Watford’s policy to sack their manager every 5/10 games…at least they aren’t afraid to get rid of underperforming managers when results are not going their way! #nufc

@Alicenufc9: Even Watford have more ambition than we do.

Bruce has been in charge of Newcastle since July 2019, winning 28 of his 96 games at the helm, whilst Munoz was sacked after accumulating a 58% win rate.

The latter did, however, manage the vast majority of his 38 matches in the Championship, but Bruce's recent record has seen him come under further scrutiny following the tough start.
