Newcastle United fans make their Steve Bruce protests heard inside St James' Park

Newcastle United fans cranked up their protests against Steve Bruce at St James' Park against Leeds United.

Chants against the manager began as early as the third minute and intensified when Raphinha whipped in an 13th minute goal.

Planned demonstrations unfolded five minutes later as some supporters sent paper planes towards the playing surface.

And there was also a crowd disturbance moments later with police and stewards ejecting a fan who attempted to enter the pitch.

Fans also made their feelings clear to Mike Ashley once again during a stormy first half on Tyneside.

Bruce had said before the game: "When you don't get the results you are up against it. The noise is is bigger here than anywhere else, it seems.

"Results will help everybody."
