Newcastle United fans make takeover protest outside the Premier League's head office

Newcastle United supporters have taken their transparency protest in London outside the Premier League's offices.

Having travelled down to the capital today to make a demonstration on Parliament Square, the Toon Army then headed to the Brunel Building in Paddington to make their point in a peaceful manner.

Fans held up signs reading: "Public arbitration for our club" outside the offices where Richard Masters and co are based.

The group have joined Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley to get the takeover decision pushed through to allow a Middle East Consortium involving PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben brothers and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund to take United off the Sports Direct magnate.

A £340million offer was accepted by Ashley last summer.

But the group are unlikely to get any type of dialogue with top-flight chiefs with a sign reading: "Access to the Premier League office is by appointment only."

Nevertheless, fans handed a letter to a police officer to hand in over the main desk with the document then refused by staff.

The group NUFC Transparency made their intentions clear recently when they told Chronicle Live: "We are the NUFC Transparency Protest group which is made up of many Newcastle United fans who have organised a protest to attract media attention and get some recognition from influential figures to put pressure onto the EPL so that our club's arbitration is made Public knowledge.

"As a fanbase we demand answers and deserve to know what's happening in regards to the future of our club."
