Newcastle United are in danger of losing out on appointing Eddie Howe as their new manager, according to the Daily Mirror.
Howe was reportedly on the verge of agreeing a two-and-a-half-year deal to replace Steve Bruce as the club's boss but it appears as though the Magpies could be set to miss out, just days after Unai Emery also turned them down.
Following 24 hours of extensive talks between the former Bournemouth boss and Newcastle hierarchy, the deal could be set to collapse over a disagreement on his backroom staff.
Howe and Emery had been narrowed down as the club's two first choice candidates but Newcastle may now miss out on both, forcing them to look elsewhere.
Caretaker boss Graeme Jones is set to take charge of his third consecutive match this evening at Brighton and Hove Albion.
