Newcastle United fans fume with Sky Sports over £14.95 coverage of Manchester United match

Manchester United and Newcastle United fans have been very vocal at their disappointment over the quality of Sky Sports Box Office.

The St James' Park clash was the first match shown by Sky on a pay-per-view basis, with supporters forced to pay £14.95 for the match to watch their side.

The announcement last week was met with serious anger after the Premier League announced every match would be available live for fans to watch through Sky Sports and BT Sport, but at £14.95 per game.

BT were the first to show a premium match with Chelsea vs Southampton at 3pm on Saturday before Sky followed suit with Newcastle vs Manchester United at 8pm.

As if forking out £14.95 wasn't bad enough, fans have been left deeply frustrated by the poor quality of Sky's coverage.

Sky Sports opted against any punditry or analysis for the match and didn't even offer a presenter on camera for the match.

Instead, they dug deep into their back catalogue of commentators to cover the game, with fans left disappointed when expecting the likes of Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Co, who usually cover Manchester United matches.

Many pubs also reported problems online with Box Office not working despite paying for the product.

Manchester United came from behind to win the match after falling behind to Luke Shaw's early own goal.

Harry Maguire equalised before Bruno Fernandes made up for a second-half penalty miss with what seemed to be the winner five minutes before the end, only for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to add a third and Marcus Rashford a fourth - both in stoppage time.
