Newcastle United fans disagree on Matty Longstaff situation after Liverpool omission

Newcastle United fans have provided a mixed view to Matty Longstaff 's omission from the squad for the Premier League clash with Liverpool.

The Magpies are hosting Liverpool in their final match of the 2019/20 season but pre-match the talk among supporters focused on Longstaff.

The 20-year-old's time at the club appears to becoming to an end despite a contract offer on the table from the club.

Fans have suggested that his omission from the Newcastle team to play Liverpool feels like the end of the road for the midfielder.

But supporters disagree on how exactly they feel about the Longstaff saga, with some taking aim at the player and others criticising the club's handling of the matter.

Longstaff is out of contract this summer and has been linked with Udinese.

Newcastle have tabled an improved offer to the player but there has been no breakthrough on negotiations.

Manager Steve Bruce recently said about the situation: “No different. I hope that he comes to me and says ‘Steve, I’m going to say here’. But it’s entirely up to Matty. Watch this space. Nothing has changed.”
