Ayoze Perez gave Newcastle United fans the best possible start to the weekend after scoring a hat-trick in Leicester City's record-equaling 9-0 win at Southampton - which took the Magpies out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
The Spaniard , who completed a £30m move to the King Power Stadium last summer, was deservedly named man of the match after opening his account in style with three quality finishes for the Foxes.
Perez became the first player to score a hat-trick in back-to-back Premier League appearances against a single opponent since Luis Suarez in September 2012 after also scoring three goals against Southampton for Newcastle back in April.
Although it took Perez until November to get his first goal of the season last season, the forward went on to score 13 goals for the Magpies and finished as the club's top scorer.
Newcastle are currently struggling for goals, having scored six times in 10 games in all competitions, as a young frontline gets to grips with the Premier League.
