Newcastle United fans have all made a similar joke after referee Robert Jones found himself in the thick of the action during the Magpies' game against Leicester City.
The ball hit Jones three times in the game during what was a very poor first half of the Magpies' game against Leicester City.
With Newcastle once again sitting back and inviting Leicester onto them in order to not be exploited by the Foxes' counter-attack, fans were quick to joke that Jones had more touches of the ball than their own side's midfield had managed in the game.
The game was goalless at the break and former Magpies manager Graeme Souness was scathing in his criticism of the way Steve Bruce's side performed.
He said: " You look at Leicester, they, on a good day, can beat anyone.
"Newcastle have got to offer more in terms of keeping the ball and being a threat.
"They are at home. It’s got to be a hard watch if you’re a Newcastle supporter.
"There’s nothing there in that 45 minutes to get you on the edge of your seat and get you excited about watching your team."
It was an uninspiring game, with Jones' accidental interventions arguably providing the biggest talking points of a lacklustre first half that saw neither side create many opportunities to score, with Newcastle's high offside trap proving effective.
Both sides managed just three shots each in the first half, with Newcastle having the only effort on target.
Yet Leicester dominated the ball, recording 60 per cent possession in contrast to Newcastle's 40 per cent.
