Newcastle United fans air familiar frustrations at Steve Bruce after Leeds United team selection

Newcastle United fans have vented their frustrations at Steve Bruce after his team selection to face Leeds United.

The Magpies are still chasing their first victory of the season after getting beat 4-1 at Manchester United last weekend.

In response, Bruce has opted to retain the same formation, with the decision to field Isaac Hayden at centre-back ahead of Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez particularly irking fans.

Equally, the continual persistent with Joelinton, despite the absence of Callum Wilson, has left some supporters scratching their heads as to where the goals will come from.

Here's how they respond to the Newcastle line-up.

In total, it's one change for Newcastle as Freddie Woodman misses out through injury, allowing Karl Darlow to return in goal.

"Yeah well thankfully he’s righter when you see your goalkeeper being hospitalised with this Covid then you’re delighted to see him back on the training ground, back being normal again," Bruce told Sky Sports before kick-off.

"Unfortunately for Freddie [Woodman] he hurt himself on Wednesday diving in a shooting drill so the decision was easy, Freddie wasn’t quite ready."
