Newcastle United evening transfer update: Dubravka on PSG links, and latest on Jack Colback future

Newcastle United start this week looking to add a couple of new players to their squad.

Following the arrivals of Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Jetro Willems - head coach Steve Bruce is keen to add more players to his roster.

A right-back is still wanted while another midfielder has also been tipped as a position on Bruce's wishlist.

It's been a relatively quiet day in terms of transfers for Newcastle United but here is the 6pm update.

Newcastle United have been linked to two players in the positions that Steve Bruce wants to buy for

It's no secret that another full-back is a key want of Steve Bruce's at Newcastle United with Emil Krafth seemingly the number one priority.

But as is the norm with the transfer window, United have been linked with another full-back today - that being Jayden Bogle from Derby County.

They've also been linked with a familiar name in the shape of Lille's Thiago Maia.

Newcastle United's No 1 has been linked with a move away all summer, and the rumour mill picked up speed last week when he was spotted at an airport - fans on social media quickly speculated that he was in an Airport in Paris.

Simply, that was not the case.

Steve Bruce had always planned to rotate the goalkeeper during pre-season, and Dubravka featured on Saturday against St-Etienne.

DeAndre Yedlin returns to training - and it's a welcome boost

Steve Bruce was visibly frustrated that he's lost Matt Ritchie to injury as it reduces his options at wing-back.

Ritchie was in the crowd on Saturday sitting next to DeAndre Yedlin who hasn't feature in any pre-season game for Newcastle United.

But with just days to go until the Premier League kicks-off, Yedlin has returned to first team training.

When Miguel Almiron scores, Tyneside will erupt.

Whether it be in a 4-1 beating or a 1-0 win - the city will breath huge sense of relief, before celebrating the fact the forward has finally got his goal.

He went close on Saturday - and Bruce admits he could have 10 goals over the last two games but despite the missed chances, he's still backing him to get his first goal sooner rather than later.
