How PIF responded to Newcastle takeover talk
There was some hope from Newcastle supporters that a multi-million pound property deal located right next to St James' Park could be linked to a potential takeover.
However, the listed buildings cannot be linked to any stadium redevelopment, and Chronicle Live have now learned that there is no link to the Saudi sovereign wealth fund. There can be some encouragement for Magpies fans, though, with the fact the takeover remains such a large part of the Newcastle narrative, and it's being noted by the PIF.

Clark's message to Almiron's agent
Former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark has told Miguel Almiron's agent to 'get back in his box' after his row with Steve Bruce.
The agent, Daniel Campos, caused controversy in November when he suggested that his client could leave St James' Park to join a side which enjoys more possession than the Magpies. Bruce responded to Campos and labelled him a 'Mickey Mouse' agent following his comments over Almiron.
Now, Clark has been speaking to Tribal Football about the row and has defended Bruce and slated Almiron's representative.
"His agent needs to get back in his box and worry about moving Almiron on or getting him a new deal when the player starts producing the level of performance that warrants it."
Masters told by MP to act on concerns
Blaydon MP Liz Twist has urged Richard Masters to act on Newcastle supporters' concerns over the transparency over the club's court case with the Premier League to determine the owner's right to sell his club to a willing buyer.
The club revealed in November that they would be launching a court case against the Premier League following the proposed takeover falling through in the summer.
Twist said: "Further to my previous letter in relation to Newcastle United Football Club (NUFC), I have again received a huge amount of correspondence from fans of the club in my constituency.
"Fans are feeling deeply frustrated by the way their team are yet again being treated by the Premier League and I urge you to act on their concerns as a matter of priority.
"As you are aware, NUFC have a strong, loyal and committed fanbase who are extremely disappointed at the lack of courtesy or respect they have been shown throughout this ongoing saga. They are simply asking for transparency and in the interest of fair play, I think this is not only reasonable but also right and proper."
