Newcastle United end £20m pursuit for Hull City hotshot, Leeds United boosted in Liverpool starlet chase, Cardiff City to listen to Aston Villa bid for star man - Championship reports

The Championship transfer rumour mill is hotting up as the beginning of the 2019-20 campaign draws ever closer.

Clubs are anxiously scrambling to complete deals with less than two weeks to go until the market ceases trading.

Leeds United, Fulham and Nottingham Forest have been busy in the market, but there's still plenty of action to come.

Here's all the latest transfer rumours from around the second tier...

Newcastle end Bowen interest

Newcastle United have ended their interest in Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen.

The highly-rated youngster has been linked with a move to the Premier League since he burst onto the scene with Hull, but ChronicleLive report the Magpies have parked talks with the Tigers over the availability of the former Hereford United scholar.

Cardiff City open to Etheridge offer

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock admits the club will listen to offers for goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.

Aston Villa are reportedly weighing up a late move for the Philippines international, and Warnock hasn't ruled out a departure from the Cardiff City Stadium this summer.

"As I've said before, we'll listen to anything," he said.

"I've not heard anything and I don't think Neil has."

Forest and Birmingham linked with Wolves man

Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City are reportedly interested in taking Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Rafa Mir on loan.

Mir spent last season on loan at Spanish second division side Las Palmas, netting seven times in the League in 30 appearances.

According to Wolvesbite Mir, who joined Nuno Espirito Santo's side from Valencia in January 2018, the Championship duo are interested in the Under-21 international.

Mir is yet to feature in the Premier League for Wolves and has only four appearances to his name in all competitions at Molineux.

Coventry midfielder wanted by Huddersfield and Derby

Tom Bayliss is in demand with Huddersfield Town and Derby to have reportedly enquired about his availability.

According to Football Insider, newly-promoted Aston Villa are also interested in the highly-rated 20-year-old report ExaminerLive.

The Rams have been linked with Bayliss before and reportedly had bids rejected for him in January last year.

A graduate of the Sky Blues' academy, Bayliss has made 73 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals from central midfield.

Wilson odds-on for Germany move

Former Derby County star Harry Wilson is odds-on with bookmaker and EFL sponsor SkyBet to move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, report HullLive.

The Liverpool attacker, who hit 18 goals for the Rams last season and has been linked with Championship rivals Leeds United this summer.
