Newcastle United dealt treble injury blow as Steve Bruce admits he'll make changes for West Ham

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has been dealt a treble injury blow ahead of the clash with West Ham at St James' Park.

The Magpies are looking to complete a Premier League double over the Hammers but may have to do it without skipper Jamaal Lascelles, midfielder Sean Longstaff and forward Joelinton.

With the games coming thick and fast for Bruce's side - and a trip to Man City coming hot on the heels of the home encounter with David Moyes' side - the Toon boss has to box clever in terms of squad rotation.

Bruce said: “I don’t think Sean Longstaff will make it [for Sunday].

"We’re waiting on Joelinton and Jamaal Lascelles has got a nasty knock to his ankle so we’ll see how he is.

"We’ve still got another 48 hours until the game so let’s hope it’s good news.”

The injury to Joelinton could see Andy Carroll thrown in from the start against his old club.
