Newcastle United could bring in former Belgium coach to work with Steve Bruce

Newcastle United have refused to comment on talk that they are about to add former Belgium coach Graeme Jones to their back-room team.

But the club did not deny rumours coming from the South Coast that Steve Bruce is about to bring in a fresh voice to his staff.

Jones managed Luton Town last but has been working as number 2 to AFC Bournemouth's Jason Tindall this season.

The Gateshead-born coach had a long playing career starting at North Shields and starring for Wigan, Southend and Bury.

Jones struck up a friendship with Roberto Martinez during his playing days and worked alongside him at Swansea City before later on the world stage with Belgium.

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that Newcastle have not made an official approach for Jones at this stage, and the former Luton boss took training this morning on the South Coast.
