Eddie Howe’s side arrive for their pre-season tour of Austria fresh off the back of a 5-1 win over Gateshead on Saturday, which was the club’s first friendly of the summer. Newcastle will now step up the standard of opposition as they face 1860 Munich at the SaalfeldenArena Bürgerau on Friday, July 15, kick-off 1.30pm BST, before going up against Mainz at the Kufstein Arena on Monday, July 18, kick-off 3pm BST.

1860 Munich are currently plying their trade in the third tier of German football, while Mainz will be kicking off their 14 th consecutive season in the Bundesliga. Magpies’ supporters could catch their first glimpse of new signings Nick Pope and Sven Botman in action across the two matches after missing the game against Gateshead at the weekend.
