Newcastle United can hurt Chelsea at set-pieces - and the dressing room is bullish

Jamaal Lascelles believes Newcastle United will have a 'good day' against Chelsea on Saturday and has called on his side to use their 'experience' to hurt the Blues.

Youngsters Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Fikayo Tomori have stepped up as key players under Frank Lampard and the quartet have been at the heart of Chelsea's four-game winning streak.

While Chelsea have scored 27 goals this season, the Londoners have kept just one clean sheet in all competitions and have looked particularly vulnerable at set-pieces.

Chelsea have conceded three goals from free-kicks, against Liverpool and Valencia, and three goals from corners, against Leicester, Wolves and Lille.

Sloppy defending at throw-ins also cost Chelsea in the build-up to Callum Robinson and Danny Ings scoring for Sheffield United and Southampton respectively.

While Newcastle have yet to score from a set-piece this season, Lascelles feels that is one area the Magpies can look to hurt Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

"Chelsea do have a young, energetic team but I'm not sure if they have much experience," the skipper told Sky Sports.

"I think we'll have a good day. It's obviously going to be tough with their quality and pace. They have attacking players who can create and hurt you from nothing.

"Experience is massive in football, the small things like running the game down, winning fouls. I do think we can get after them. They are not the biggest team either so maybe [we can exploit] set-pieces. I do fancy ourselves."
