Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce feels Watford made 'crazy' decision to dismiss Javi Gracia

Steve Bruce believes that Watford's decision to part company with Javi Gracia sums up how "crazy" life in the Premier League has become these days.

The Hornets hit the panic button after Newcastle's 1-1 draw with the Hertfordshire side last month with Quique Sanchez Flores restored in the hot-seat at Vicarage Road.

Bruce has been asked about Watford's drastic action, and replied: "All of us could see he took Watford to their highest finish and the FA Cup final.

"If you ever know how crazy our industry is then you only have to look at last week.

"The thing is we are no longer surprised any more. It used to be a shock but it ain't any more.

"That is the game and how it is. It is all driven by results.

"Unfortunately, they got off to a poor start, and when you do that it can be unfortunate."

Since then Watford chief executive Scott Duxbury has defended his decision, he said: "Unlike the media and the pundits, I'm here and at the training ground every day, I see what's working and I see what's not working and am able to make an informed decision.

"I don't believe waiting and hoping for results to improve will work and that I need to make a change. It would be wrong of me to wait just because it looks better."
