Newcastle United are working with the Paraguayan FA after Miguel Almiron picked up a hamstring injury at the Copa America.
Almiron left the field visibly distressed in the 1-0 defeat to Uruguay as his country rounded off the group stages with a defeat.
Paraguay are through to the next stage and will face a quarter-final against Ecuador, Colombia or Peru but it remains to be seen whether Almiron appears again in the tournament.
His unhappiness as he left the field suggested he may know he's suffered a bad one, but whether he gets the green light to head back to the UK early is unclear.

Almiron was already set to join up with Newcastle later than the rest of his team-mates on July 5.
Steve Bruce was always likely to ease Almiron back into things this summer and he could appear later in pre-season with the aim of being available for the Premier League opener against West Ham.
The fact that the game has been pushed back by 24 hours to Sunday will also give Almiron slightly longer to get ready and after a demanding summer, both he and Bruce will be grateful for small mercies after an unforgiving international fixture list in South America.
