Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has reveled that he will be without defender DeAndre Yedlin for their Premier League match against Arsenal.
Arsenal travel to St James' Park to take on the Magpies in the clubs' first Premier League game of the season.
Yedlin had surgery on his groin during the summer, and has returned to training with the first team squad this week, but has failed to recover in time to make an appearance on Sunday, meaning that new signing Emil Krafth could make his debut.
"DeAndre Yedlin has had an operation and hasn’t recovered, so it became clear that we needed cover in that area, said Bruce, as reported by ChronicleLive .
"He (Krafth) will certainly give us that.
"He’s an experienced player who has been on the radar for some time.
"He’ll bring us the experience and know-how that any team needs."
"The other boys (Willems and Saint-Maximin ) only arrived last Friday.
"We’ve been working on how we’re going to play for this game.
"We’re got one or two little injuries, but there’s nothing really to report."
Yedlin made 29 Premier League appearances for Newcastle last season, scoring one goal.
