Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer believes Harry Kane's Euro 2020 starts now - after he broke his tournament duck against Germany.
The former England striker knows only too well the difficulty of going through a drought at international level after a barren spell before Euro 96.
Back then Terry Venables stuck with Shearer and current boss Gareth Southgate did not panic after Kane went through the group stage without a goal.
Kane was starved of decent service for long periods against Germany but Jack Grealish picked him out late in the game to allow the Tottenham star to nod home from close range.

Shearer, speaking to BBC, said: "That goal will ignite Harry Kane.
"He had looked flat, there's no doubt about it in the first half.
"There was a lack of movement, the ball wasn't coming in and then you maybe stop running.
"But then when you put balls in the box that's when he comes alive. I
"I'm certain you might see a different Harry Kane now."
And recalling the agony of going through a goal drought, Shearer said: "You don't sleep when you don't score, you don't sleep when you score because you worry about it.
"Now he won't be able to sleep tonight with the excitement because he'll feel 10ft tall again and he can't wait for the next game to come around.
"That's the life of a centre forward."
