Newcastle transfer rumours with Ivan Fresneda release clause claim and Matheus Franca talks

Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.

Fresneda latest

Ivan Fresneda is a man in demand this window, having enjoyed a breakthough year with Real Valladolid. The Spanish youth international has reportedly been attracting attention from a host of Europe's elite, with Arsenal and Newcastle said to be leading the Premier League interest.

Valladolid boss Juan José Rojo Martín has fanned the flames of an imminent exit by insisting the teenager will play only a few more games for the La Liga side. Now, Italian outlet Tutto Juve claim Juventus were the first club to express a concrete interest in Fresneda.

However, the report suggests the finances on offer from Newcastle are 'more convincing'. Fresneda is also said to be only 11 appearances away from raising his release clause to a figure in the region of £39.5million.

Franca demands

Matheus Franca has been linked with the Magpies over recent weeks, with recent reports suggesting talks were now taking place over a January switch. The 18-year-old has already emerged as a regular starter for Flamengo.

Now, Goal claim Newcastle have submitted an offer in the region of £14m for the highly-rated teenager. Bayer Leverkusen previously failed with an offer around £12m, and reports suggest the Brazilian club could hold out for a package closer to £18m.

Lyon are also said to be interested in Franca, and the French club continue to 'monitor' the situation. The attacking midfielder has netted seven goals in 28 senior appearances for Flamengo.
