Newcastle transfer rumours with Dusan Vlahovic claim and Felix Nmecha 'tug of war' latest

Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.

Vlahovic claim

Eddie Howe faced a selection dilemma in the closing stages of last season due to the form of both Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson. Newcastle's number nine finished with a best return of 18 Premier League goals, while the record signing enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in black-and-white despite missing four months through injury.

However, this has seemingly not deterred Howe from considering a move for another striker this summer. In addition to the links to AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez and Juventus forward Federico Chiesa, French outlet Footmercato claim Dusan Vlahovic is also on the Magpies' radar.

The Serbian international has netted 23 times in 63 appearances for the Serie A giants, but rumours over a potential sale this summer are mounting. Arsenal have previously been linked with Vlahovic, while Chelsea have been credited with an interest.

The report also claims Newcastle have made an enquiry for Feyenoord defender David Hancko. The Slovakian international is left-footed, and reportedly has three years left on his contract after joining the Dutch side last summer from Sparta Prague.

Nmecha latest

Former Manchester City prospect Felix Nmecha is a man in demand this summer, despite having two years left to run on his contract at VFL Wolfsburg. Newcastle are among a host of clubs to express an interest in the 22-year-old, along with the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

Now, Borussia Dortmund have shown 'great interest' in Nmecha as they look for potential midfield replacements following the sale of Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid. That is according to Sky Deutschland via Sport Witness, who suggest a 'tug of war' could be on the cards for the midfielder who may be available for a fee in the region of £21 million.
