Newcastle transfer round up as Cornet & Kabak linked whilst Premier League club want Toon midfielder

Newcastle could 'rival' Burnley for Cornet

Burnley have been in talks with Lyon winger-turned-left-back Maxwell Cornet for some time now but the deal is still yet to be completed as the player appears to need a lot of convincing to move to Turf Moor.

According to 90min, Newcastle could make the transfer even more complicated by making Cornet an offer of their own.

The site claims that 'Premier League rivals Newcastle and West Ham are interested in a deal for the 24-year-old. Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin are also keen on him.'

Ex-Liverpool loanee a possibility for Bruce

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has linked the Magpies with Ozan Kabak.

The centre back spent the second half of last season on loan at Liverpool, following injuries to centre-backs Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip. However, the Reds declined to make the deal permanent and instead bought Ibrahima Kounate from RB Leipzig.

Although Romano has linked the club with Kabak, he did say that no bid has been made at this stage and that Schalke prefers a permanent deal at this time, whilst Newcastle look set to utilise the loan market.

Premier League side eyes Hayden

Football Insider have claimed that Watford have an interest in signing Toon midfielder Isaac Hayden.

The player has been out with an injury but is expected to return soon. He is not a player that Steve Bruce would be keen to see leave the club and he signed a six-year contract in September 2020 so Newcastle are well protected in terms of being able to ward off any interest.
