Newcastle transfer news as Inter Milan 'ready to offer' €5 million per season to Marcus Thuram

Here are your Newcastle United transfer rumours for Thursday, December 29.

Marcus Thuram update

Inter Milan are ready to offer €5 million per season to Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.

Thuram's contract with the Bundesliga outfit expires in July and the France international is unlikely to extend his current deal. He has attracted interest from a host of European clubs, including Juventus, Newcastle and Manchester United.

According to Gazetta Dello Sport (via Football Italia), Inter have already scheduled a meeting with Thuram's representatives in January. They will reportedly offer a €5 million-a-year deal for the next five years, although they are aware that offers from the Premier League could threaten their chances of landing the 25-year-old.

The report adds that the Magpies are monitoring Thuram and could even be ready to sign him for a low transfer fee in January. However, Thuram is not believed to be interested in leaving his current employers this winter.

Thuram has scored 13 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions for the Foals this term, including 10 in 15 outings in the Bundesliga.

His form in Germany has propelled him into the French squad, and Thuram featured in five games as Les Bleus reached the World Cup final in Qatar.

Azzedine Ounahi boost

Newcastle have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi. According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Angers are considering a move for Niort midfielder Moataz Zemzemi as they prepare for life without Ounahi.

Ounahi was one of the breakout stars at this winter's World Cup, as he helped Morocco become the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the competition.

Angers have set a £34 million price tag for the 22-year-old, who has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Newcastle and fellow Premier League rivals Leeds.

Ounahi was plying his trade in the third-tier of French football just 18 months ago but has become a key player for Angers.

He made 32 appearances for the Ligue 1 club last term, and has featured heavily once again during the current campaign. However, Angers are struggling in the French top-flight and currently sit rock bottom in the table with just eight points from 15 games.

Khephren Thuram links

Newcastle United are keeping tabs on OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to the Daily Mail. The 21-year-old has already amassed over 100 appearances for the Eaglets since arriving from AS Monaco in 2019.

Thuram is a defensive midfielder by trade, but also has experience playing as a left winger. The France U21 international is the son of World Cup winner Lilian, and the younger brother of Newcastle target and Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus.
