Newcastle transfer gossip as Magpies target reveals admiration for 'phenomenal' Bruno Guimaraes

Here are your Newcastle United transfer rumours for Thursday, November 24.

Andrey Santos

Newcastle United target Andrey Santos has revealed that he is an admirer of his Brazilian compatriot Bruno Guimaraes.

Santos has been linked with a £30 million move to the Magpies, after firing Vasco da Gama into the Brazilian top-flight with eight goals in 33 games.

90 Min reported in October that Newcastle had been in talks with the 18-year-old since the summer, but Santos revealed earlier this month that there has been nothing concrete thus far.

However, Santos has opened up about his dream of playing in Europe in the future, and on his admiration for Newcastle's Brazilian midfield maestro.

"They [Vasco de Gama] transformed me into a midfielder. I was very happy, because I was closer to goal," Santos explained to Lance.

"I really like Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes and Thiago Alcantara. These guys are phenomenal. I look up to them a lot.

"It is clear that football in Europe is much more advanced than here in Brazil. And every boy has the dream of playing in Europe. But I am calm about it, because I know that everything will turn out well."

Houssem Aouar

Italian outlet La Repubblica (via Sports Witness ) have named Newcastle as a potential candidate for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The Frenchman is out of contract at Lyon at the end of the season, and although AC Milan are interested, the report adds that there are 'no shortage of offers' from England.

The 24-year-old will be available for a cut-price deal in January, or is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a non-French club in the winter transfer window.

Aouar has spent his entire career at his hometown club, and joined Lyon's academy in 2009 at the age of 11. He has played 221 times for the club since making his senior debut in 2017, although injury has restricted him to just six league appearances this term.
