
NEWCASTLE trainer Nathan Doyle continued his best-ever season and recent purple patch when Cafe Royal made it back-to-back metropolitan wins.
The five-year-old mare narrowly edged out Two Up, prepared by David Atkins, in the Fujitsu General Handicap (1300 metres) at Warwick Farm on Easter Monday.
Cafe Royal was a first-up winner at Canterbury on March 30.

"I think she [Cafe Royal] can take that step up to benchmark 78 grade, if we can get her back to her best she can compete at Saturday level,'' Doyle told Racing NSW.
Doyle scratched stablemate Dalaalaat from the same race.
The Novocastrian now has a career-high 43 winners for 2021-22, featuring five in the last 15 days, and sits on the edge of the top 10 for the NSW trainer's premiership.
