Newcastle to host Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds in new Last Vegas-style gig next summer

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will be a star attraction at a new festival which is heading to Newcastle, it has been announced.

The former Oasis star, who played This Is Tomorrow in 2019, will headline a new event called Rock 'n' Roll Circus - described as all-new touring concept - which will showcase a mix of live entertainment including everything from a Ferris wheel to jugglers when it rolls into town next summer.

Announcing the news on Monday afternoon, a spokesman called it a fully immersive experience with music being set to a circus backdrop "Las Vegas style."

It will take place on June 9 on the Town Moor where a Big Top, with capacity for 10,000 people, will house around 30 entertainers including tightrope walkers and jugglers. Also helping to whip up a circus atmosphere will be ringmasters and fortune tellers.

Gallagher 's High Flying Birds, which he launched a decade ago following his 20 years leading Oasis, is set to be a huge draw for fans and there are still more music acts to be announced for the new festival which will be touring the country.

Tickets for the Newcastle date will go on sale at 9am on Friday, November 26, see here.
