Train firm LNER has issued an important travel warning to Edinburgh passengers heading to Newcastle.
Taking to social media, LNER has informed customers commuting between the two cities that there is a limited services on Friday October 7 as the firm prepares for major strike action on Saturday and engineering work taking place on the line.
On their website, they state: "A limited service will run to / from Scotland via Carlisle, with journey times extended by up to 90 minutes. An hourly service will run between London Kings Cross and Newcastle, and between Morpeth and Edinburgh, with replacement buses running Newcastle - Morpeth."

Those travelling with TransPennine Express, rail replacement buses will operate between Newcastle / Berwick-upon-Tweed and Edinburgh.
Looking towards Saturday October 1, 14 train operators and Network Rail staff are to strike, bringing the majority of trains across the UK to a standstill. While ScotRail staff are not associated with this strike, without Network Rail signallers, trains cannot run.
Only a skeleton ScotRail service will run and LNER have warned there will be no London King's Cross to Edinburgh Waverley services in either direction.
This follows a wave of industrial action following a dispute over pay and working conditions.
