Passengers on a QantasLink flight from Newcastle were told to brace as the plane made an emergency landing due to an alert about a potential landing gear issue.
Flight QF2420 Newcastle to Brisbane conducted the priority landing at Brisbane Airport on Thursday morning after the alert in the cockpit.
QantasLink CEO John Gissing said pilots and crew followed the standard procedures for this type of incident and the flight landed safely.
"We understand this would have been a very unsettling experience for our passengers and sincerely thank them for their cooperation throughout the flight," Mr Gissing said.
"[Staff] did a great job handling the situation and were able to call on the extensive training they receive."
Qantas engineers inspected the aircraft and identified that the alert in the cockpit was due to a faulty sensor, and the landing gear was operating normally through the flight.
