Newcastle takeover lawyer Nick De Marco's gives verdict on 'good point' against Tottenham

Nick De Marco has praised Joe Willock for his 'lovely equaliser' and believes Newcastle United picked up a 'good point' against Tottenham.

The Magpies appeared to be on course for defeat after Harry Kane's quickfire double cancelled out Joelinton's opening goal.

However, substitute and Arsenal loanee Willock struck a deserved leveller five minutes' from time to ensure the points were shared on Sunday afternoon.

It is a draw which briefly extended United's cushion over the relegation zone to three points, although they could fall into the bottom three if Fulham win at Aston Villa.

De Marco is a member of the legal team representing Mike Ashley and the club in their legal action against the Premier League.

The breakdown of the takeover deal agreed with the Saudi-led consortium last summer has led to preparations for an arbitration panel.

De Marco - along with members of the takeover consortium such as Amanda Staveley's husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi - regularly post about Newcastle on social media.

Dozens of United fans recently responded to his Easter message, and have again replied to the lawyer's verdict on Sunday's result.

De Marco posted: "Not the win I hoped for - but a good point and lovely late equaliser."

One fan commented: "Such a good performance today. If we play like this for the rest of the season, I think we’ll be fine!"

Another fan replied: "If you get the win we are all hoping for you've got a min [sic] of 52k drinks coming your way."
