Newcastle takeover: Arsenal can use transfer market trick to battle Chelsea and cash-rich clubs

Arsenal fans were left with a slice of jealousy with a topping of worry after it had been announced that Newcastle were on the verge of completing their long-awaited Saudi takeover.

The Gunners have had their own talks about a change of leadership at the club which has so far failed to materialise as Daniel Ek can’t seem to agree a deal with the Kroenkes.

The worry from fans stems from the fact that the club is already struggling in the league table to compete with the top teams and with the Magpies going through a takeover process which will see them boosted by a major cash injection, it will just be another top club for Arsenal to battle with.

However, we must not panic or feel envious because the way Arsenal operate and have succeeded in the past goes to show that a cash injection is not what we necessarily need.

The Hale End academy and the now-regular conveyor belt of young talent should be the main reason why fans shouldn’t feel threatened by Newcastle.

In recent years we have produced amazing youth talent, which include the likes first-team regulars Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

Both of these youngsters have put the team on their back over the last year and the North London derby against Spurs this season was a testament to that.

Without spending a dime on either player they carried the team against a top side in the league and they have been consistent at doing so, showing that the club can place their trust in these two youth academy products for seasons ahead.

Arsenal’s current transfer approach of signing young players means that a takeover by owners that are willing to splash the cash would go against the club’s model.

And so far this model has seen success, as the six signings under the age of 23 that Arsenal signed in the summer, have all shown signs of promise which bodes well for the North London club in the future.

Whilst other clubs need such a rich takeover to attract players to the club by flaunting their money, Arsenal do not require this whatsoever.

Our rich history in terms of trophies, success and the club’s DNA all combine towards an attractive destination for a top player without the need to offer an exaggerated amount of wages.

Of course, seeing your club throw money at new players is a pleasant thought but it is not a necessity for Arsenal.
