A popular Newcastle bar will close for next month to allow for a refurbishment that will; see its carpets replaced and glamorous new bathrooms fitted.
Quayside cocktail hotspot Tiger Hornsby took to Facebook on Thursday morning to reveal to customers that it would be shut for most of February, posting "We are closing for the majority of February for a little venue TLC, but don’t worry- we will be back and when we are, it will be worth the wait....."
Revealing more on the refurb to Chronicle Live, a member of staff said "We are closing February 3 to do a full refit of our very tired bathrooms, as we feel they aren’t up to Ms Hornsby’s standards, and we feel our lovely customers deserve somewhere special to relieve their glamorous selves!
"We’ll be keeping the designs under wraps, but we are continuing the same colourful, eclectic vibes of the main room, with little nods to the Victorian heritage of the building.
"We will also be ripping out our sticky carpets (from five and a half years of “dancing” cocktails!) and replacing them with a new bespoke design. There’s many more subtle finishing touches to do, but we will be keeping our magical little venue as it is."
