Newcastle's newest car park shows off its curves

About 700 new car parking spaces adjacent to the Newcastle bus interchange will open next Tuesday.

The new car park building is part of Doma's $200-million redevelopment of the former Newcastle Store building site.

Rates for all day parking on weekdays will be $7.50 and $5.00 on weekends.

"Parking in the city centre can be difficult so we look forward to this facility making it easier and less stressful for people to drive into town," Doma's Chris Farrington said.

The remaining section of the bus interchange, which includes the kiss and ride drop off zone, will open once construction access is no longer required for the adjacent office building.

Currently the office building is scheduled for completion by the end of March 2021.
