Newcastle's King Koby barbers to offer homeless people free hair cuts and food

A top Newcastle barber shop will offer free haircuts and food to the homeless later this month.

The homeless community are invited along to King Koby Chop Shop on Tuesday, April 23, for free 'free hair cuts, free pizza, free drinks and free kindness'.

King Koby has held haircuts for the homeless days at its barber shops in Yorkshire, although April's afternoon will be the first at its Newcastle store, which opened in Grainger Street earlier this year.

Co-owner Neil Smedley says the free haircuts are a way of having a positive impact in the area, which is something he and his business partner set out to do when they founded King Koby in Leeds.

"It's just a way to give back to the communities that we serve," Neil told ChronicleLive.

If you know anyone homeless who would appreciate the offer, they are invited to head to King Koby Chop Shop, 80 Grainger Street, Newcastle from 3pm on Tuesday, April 23.

King Koby is rated five stars out of five by reviewers on Booksy , a website where customers can book hair appointments.
